Conservation awareness activities focusing on small wild cats and landscape conservation were carried out during the Pakke Paga Hornbill Festival 2026 held at Seijosa in Pakke Tiger Reserve, Arunachal Pradesh.

The festival provided an important platform for engaging with local communities, forest officials, and conservation partners on wildlife conservation issues, particularly the importance of conserving lesser-known small wild cat species and their habitats in the northeastern landscape.

The outreach activities also highlighted the role of community participation and cultural platforms in strengthening long-term support for biodiversity conservation. The initiative was supported by partners including the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, UNDP India, and the Arunachal Pradesh Forest Department, among others.
